According to the National Weather Service, it will be mostly sunny, with a high near 47 in the Cedar Rapids area today. Winds from the north around 5 mph. And tonight, mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.
The varsity show choir from Linn-Mar High School came home as the national grand champion after competing against the nation’s best show choirs in Nashville this weekend. The school’s 10th Street Edition varsity show choir won the Grand Champion award at the 2023 Show Choir Nationals at the Grand Ole Opry. The show choir also was recognized as having the best vocals, best choreography and best band.
Caitlin Clark recorded the first 30-point triple-double in NCAA women’s basketball tournament history, and took it even further than that. She collected 41 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists, leading Iowa to the NCAA women’s basketball Final Four. It’s the first women's Final Four in 30 years. The third-ranked Hawkeyes whipped Louisville, 97-83, in the Seattle Region 4 final Sunday night at Climate Pledge Arena. Iowa will play South Carolina or Maryland on Friday.
